Fire contained at Jumeirah construction site in Dubai
Firefighting teams from three stations were dispatched to extinguish the blaze. Jumeirah Street was partially cordoned off, with traffic diverted to Al Athaar Street, with Al Uroba Street completely closed.

The fire, which was reported at 5:25pm, sent plumes of smoke into the sky from Jumeirah Beach Road.Initial investigations showed that the fire had broken out in the basement of the building. A spokesperson from Civil Defense said Firefighting teams from four civil stations rushed to the scene to control the fire and ensure it did not extend to neighboring buildings.



Lieutenant Colonel Hussain Al Rahoumi, Director of Al Quoz Centre, confirmed that no one was reported injured in the blaze. “We were alerted about the fire at 5:25pm and the firefighters reached the scene within six minutes. The fire broke out at an under-construction shopping mall called The Agora,” he said.

Firefighters from Al Shuhada Al Emarat, Ittihad, Port Saeed and Rashidiya stations responded to the alert, he added. Jumeirah Street had been partially cordoned off and traffic was diverted to Al Athaar Street, while Al Orouba Street had been closed, according to Dubai Media Office.

At 10.05pm, Jumeirah Street had been reopened to traffic. The Agora Shopping mall project involved the construction of a three-story shopping centre with two basement levels.

“Dubai Civil Defense puts out a fire at a construction site in Jumeirah and confirms it has not spread to any nearby buildings. There were no injuries recorded,” the media office wrote on Twitter. Major General Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense was present at the site to personally supervise and follow up on the containment of the fire.

In a series of tweets, Dubai Media Office stated that the fire had not spread to nearby buildings, and that no injuries were reported from the incident. Maj Gen Rashid Al Matrooshi, director-general of Dubai Civil Defence, visited the site to oversee the fire containment operation.
