Staying Safe: Battling Distractions, Peer Pressure and Complacency
In this episode, Editor Sydny Shepard discusses how safety can be impeded by outside distractions, peer pressure and complacency. How can you create a company culture that keeps safety top of mind despite these issues?

In America, there are 382.2 million people, of which 164.4 million are employees in a field of labor. These employees are at an increased risk of injury or fatality due to workplace hazards despite the fact their work still needs to be done.

These nearly 164.4 million people are humans with lives, wives, husbands and children. They have anxieties, worries and dreams… co-workers and quotas. It is important to humanize the workforce when thinking about safety because some of the most dangerous hazards for employees could stem from issues employers or directors may not be aware of.

In today’s episode, we are going to talk about a few ways that safety can be impeded by factors in an employee’s world and how companies can work to create a culture at work where safety is always in the forefront.
