Washington — OSHA has published an infographic on working safely in the heat.
Developed in partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the one-page infographic encourages workers to:
Drink a cup of cool water every 20 minutes, even if you aren’t thirsty. For more strenuous and longer jobs, drink a beverage with electrolytes, such as a sports drink.
Take regular rest breaks in the shade or another cool location.
Know the signs of heat illness.
The infographic is part of OSHA’s Heat Illness Prevention campaign. The agency plans to translate it into multiple languages.
