The new OSHA rule on Walking-Working Surfaces and Personal Fall Protection Systems (29 CFR 1910 Subparts D&I) has been effective for nearly a year, but many organizations are struggling with how to implement the required changes to their fall protection programs—especially in light of stretched budgets and other safety priorities. Using case studies from organizations that have proactively approached these changes, this session provides attendees with some practical tips for how to implement the new rules. The presenter will provide practical methods to transition from where your program is today to where it needs to be to facilitate OSHA compliance.

Mr. Kramer is a safety consultant and structural engineer with more than 20 years of experience. As a dually registered professional engineer and certified safety professional, he has spent much of his career consulting with clients to reduce risk for workers at heights. He specializes in the assessment and design of fall protection systems, as well as fall protection program development. He is widely considered as a thought leader in the fall protection industry, having given more than 100 technical sessions and workshops on the topic. He serves as the vice chair of the ANSI Z359 fall protection committee and is the current president of the International Society for Fall Protection. For his contributions to the safety profession, he received the 2017 Thomas F. Bresnahan Standards Medal for fall protection standards development.
