Firefighters honoured for rescuing residents from burning
Abu Dhabi: A team of firefighters who last week rushed to the scene of a burning residential apartment in Abu Dhabi were honoured for their brave efforts in putting out the fire and helping secure the safety of the building’s residents.

The incident occurred on July 24, with emergency teams arriving almost immediately at the scene after being alerted about the blaze.

Firefighters managed to quickly contain the fire, stopping it from spreading to other apartments and other areas of the building.

Colonel Mohammad Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, director-general of Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, said that the Ministry of Interior was keen on honouring and rewarding the distinguished work of its firefighters. Al Ansari also said that the Civil Defence strives to perform its duties in a professional and dedicated manner in service of the community, and that all its members have been trained — both inside and outside the country — to the highest international standards.
